THERE are few things worse than trying to get all cosy and snuggly on the sofa, only to feel a draught coming in.
But rather than fork out on a draught excluder which you need to install yourself, it turns out there's a popular household item you can use instead – and you'll already have it in your home.
Money experts at Which? decided to test what material is best at eliminating draughts and it turns out that if you're looking to cut back on pricey energy bills, then a bathroom towel is your best bet.
It beat off everything from rubber, fabric and brush to come up trumps.
In a clip posted to TikTok (@whichuk), the savvy woman explains: "This towel could go towards saving you £50 a year".
The video then shows a simulation using cardboard, feathers and a wind machine to replicate a draught.

The money website also shared the pros and cons of each product and explained that while a towel will "dramatically" reduces the amount of air that gets through, it isn't the most aesthetically pleasing solution.
And it's not the first time Fabulous has shared stories about savvy homeowners reducing the amount of breeze sneaking through gaps and cracks.
In another video, Chadwick a mechanic put the towel trick to the test and said: “Get yourself a towel and three bobbles it will do the same job.”
The hack is very simple, you grab an old towel that you don't want to use and roll.
You’ll want to roll the towel the right way so that it matches the width of your door.
You secure this with three hair ties evenly spread across your rolled towel.
Then you place this at the bottom of your draughty door.
This works just like a draught excluder.
