KEEPING your whites white might seem like an impossible task, but it's easier than you might think.
You don't even have to break the bank to wash items at high temperatures to get the best results.
According to the laundry experts from Comfort fabric conditioner a 30 degree wash might actually be better for your clothes in the long run.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, they shared six simple tricks you can use to get spotless results without it costing a fortune.
Separate laundry
The first trick you should always remember is to sort the laundry into different piles to wash separately.
Of course, dark colours shouldn't be washed with light colours to stop colours from bleeding.

But you should also avoid mixing delicate fabrics with anything too rough, like underwear and towels.

Even if you think you know the best way to wash an item it's always best to double check the label.
And even though you can wash garments at a lower temperature than the label recommends, the laundry experts warned not to go any higher.

All you need to do is spot treat them beforehand.
They explained: “Pre-treat any stains by applying liquid detergent or a dedicated stain remover directly to the stain and leaving for a few minutes."
Then add to the machine with the rest of your laundry and wash as usual.
Pick a good detergent
It's no secret that the products you use can make a huge difference to the end results.
That's why choosing a quality laundry detergent is important.
Although bio and non-bio detergents both get the job done, for the most part bio products will remove stains better at lower temperatures.
