We sold our massive flat to live in a tiny van it's so small we have to sleep top and tails but we don't care | The Sun

A COUPLE who ditched the spacious flat to live in a tiny van on the road have revealed some of the difficulties they faced.

Ian and Ana, from the US, loved their huge flat but knew they wanted something different.

The couple trialled living in a van for a few month before, but knew they had their actual home to fall back on if they changed their minds or just wanted some creature comforts.

This time they decided to take the plunge for real, which means selling what they didn't need and moving other stuff into storage.

The duo shared the journey of moving into the van on YouTube, and it was how they got it from their home in North Caroline all the way to Euopre.

The move cost them £3,466 – but according to Ian it was worth every penny, since they plan on staying and traveling for quite a while.

Woman who lives in a van says it’s only 6m long but has a kitchen, toilet & bed

"It's definitely worth it because this is our hotel, this is our Airbnb, we don't have to pay those high prices," Ian said.

The van itself is pretty tiny, and it cost them £55k, but it's still an upgrade from the one they travelled in last time.

There's a tiny kitchen area were the pair can cook some basic meals, a small sink and an induction stove they can plug in to use.

Underneath the counters there's a pull out chest fridge that even has a freezer compartment too.

The main issue for the couple is that they don't actually both fit in the bed.

"We can't sleep left to right because Ian's feet touch the wall," Ana explained.

"When it's actually time for bed and I'm not kidding you it feels like we're in a king size bed in a freaking van."

To make the space feel more cosy they even hung some plants and fairy lights.

And for rainy days there's a pull out projector screen so they can watch films from the comfort of their bed.

After sharing their new home on wheels off on social media, people were amazed by how much they managed to fit in such a small space.

"You've made it look so cute inside, good for you guys I'm sure you'll love Europe," one commented on the video.

Another wrote: "That bed is way too small, your poor man, but it does look good."

"You should try and extend the bed for him or it could hurt his back down the line," someone else agreed.
