A DIY-SAVVY YouTuber has revealed how to block drafts from entering the home using a budget hack.
Their tip involves using two household items and a foam swimming pool float to make a device that helps to keep homes warm without turning the heating on.
Weidner Apartments has almost 2,000 subscribers on YouTube, where they share house tours and money-saving tips for homeowners.
They took to the video-sharing platform to explain how to make a DIY door draft stopper using a pool noodle, an old pillow case, and safety pins.
They started off by explaining how to measure the size of the door stopper by placing the pool noodle alongside the door.
The YouTuber said: “First place the pool noodle against the door so you can get the most accurate measurement.
“For the outside part of the door, this side needs to be a little longer to ensure a sealed close.
“Grab a marker and draw out the line where you will cut the noodle, then grab a scissor and cut it.
“Repeat those same steps for the inside door but instead make the segment a little shorter to make sure the door can still open and close without any issues.”
Pool noodles are available from Dollar Tree for around $1.25.

The YouTuber said: “Next, stuff the noodles inside the pillowcase.
“Then roll one side nice and tight to secure it use safety pins to hold it down.”
The YouTuber demonstrated rolling the first half of the pool noodle toward the center of the pillowcase to wrap it in fabric.
He placed it against the door to check his method before rolling the other pool noodle into the pillowcase.
He continued: “After you have one side done, place the stopper underneath the door and roll the other side until you have a nice tight fit around the door.
“Pull out the stopper and repeat with the safety pin to help secure.”
The video racked up over 64,000 views and thousands of comments from people who were amazed by the hack.
