AJ Pritchard and Abbie Quinnen’s romance timeline including burns accident as couple ‘split’

FormerStrictly Come Dancing starAJ Pritchard has split from his girlfriendAbbie Quinnen after four years together, according to reports.

The 27 year old is said to have called time on his relationship with Abbie, 25, last week, leaving Abbie “devastated” by the decision.

The couple first started dating back in May 2018 when Abbie auditioned to be a dancer on AJ’s ‘Get On The Floor’ tour, though AJ didn’t originally envision a romantic link between the pair.

“I’m very business-minded so I didn’t really talk to Abbie until the tour had finished. I did think she was really pretty and I enjoyed seeing her dance," the former Strictly Come Dancing professional told OK! back in 2019.

"I’d watch her, then cheer a bit too enthusiastically,” he added.

After dancing together, AJ said that there was a “really special connection” with Abbie and the pair grew closer after the tour.

After taking Abbie out for dinner for their first date, the pair later became an official item some months later when they went on holiday to Greece together.

Then, as the nation went into lockdown back in March 2020, the couple continued to go from strength-to-strength asthey quarantined at AJ’s family home in Cheshire with his brother Curtis and his parents Debi and Adrian.

Throughout their time together, the couple regularly gushed over one another on social media and often spoke about the unique experience of navigating their relationship amid talk of a ‘Strictly Curse’ when AJ was on the show.

Then in 2021, Abbie was left with third degree burns after a social media video went horribly wrong -an accident that left her wanting to “push” AJ away from her.

Abbie had been filming a 'hack' when a wine bottle exploded in her face and engulfed her in flames, requiring her to undergo three skin grafts on her face and upper body.

The professional dancer has since come a long way since the accident and evenran a half marathon with AJ and his brother Curtis just six months after the incident in order to give back to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Speaking about how she's been able to cope throughout the difficult time recovering from her injuries one year on from the ordeal, Abbie told OK! thatAJ had been an incredible support for her.

“It's been a hard year, but I've had AJ by my side all the way through and he's been absolutely amazing. So I just feel really lucky really,” she said.

“I definitely feel like this brought us closer together,” she added. “I think I really realised how much AJ does love me when I went through that situation because I honestly looked horrific.

“I don't know how he had to look at me everyday and was still like there, feeding me my 27 tablets a day and was by my side and still told me that he loved me when I looked that awful.”

Most recently, Abbie and AJ -who’d previously discussed the idea of an engagement – headed to Soho Farmhouse back in May to enjoy Abbie’s 25th birthday by horse riding and glamping in the stunning Oxfordshire countryside.

The pair then jetted off to Ibiza just a few weeks later before heading to Carfest in July, with the trip being the last photo they've posted together on social media.
