Ana de Armas feels the constant media attention her relationship with Ben Affleck got was so “horrible” it made her move.
“That’s one of the reasons why I left LA,” the “Blonde” actress, 34, said of the constant paparazzi snaps of the pair in Elle’s August 2022 cover story.
De Armas, who lived in the City of Angels for seven years, had witnessed firsthand how some of her pals navigated public attention, but experiencing it confirmed her thoughts about it.
“This is not the place for me to be,” she said she told herself.
“It became a little bit too much. There’s no escape. There’s no way out.”
The “Knives Out” actress said the city kept her “anxious” because in LA there is “always the feeling of something that you don’t have, something missing.”

De Armas dated Affleck, 49, during the coronavirus pandemic and the former couple quarantined together. During this time, they were often photographed while walking their dogs or on coffee runs.
However, by January 2021, the “Deep Water” co-stars had called it quits after almost a year together.
A source close to the actors told Page Six at the time, “There is a lot of love still between the two of them. The split is as amicable as can be.”
An insider then shared that the breakup was over the fact that de Armas and Affleck were at “different places” in their lives and the “Armageddon” star would not commit to having more kids.”
He shares 16-year-old daughter Violet, 13-year-old daughter Seraphina, and 10-year-old son Samuel with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
After Affleck and de Armas split, the “Argo” director moved on to yet another high-profile relationship, rekindling his romance with Jennifer Lopez. They got engaged — for a second time — in April 2022.
Meanwhile, de Armas moved on with Tinder exec Paul Boukadakis.
The couple, who have been dating for a year, have not been able to avoid the paps as well, however. In December 2021, they were photographed kissing while on a stroll in LA.
Although it’s unclear where de Armas moved, Page Six previously reported that Boukadakis splits his time between Texas and Santa Monica, Calif.
