BANKS traditionally close their doors on bank holidays – and the August Bank Holiday is no exception.
Here is what you need to know about the opening times for banks including Nationwide, Barclays and Lloyds during the Bank Holiday weekend.
Are banks open on August Bank Holiday?
If you need to visit the bank this Bank Holiday then the chances are you may struggle – as most banks will be closed.
However, one bank making the exception to stay open during Bank Holiday hours is Metro Bank.
Their branches will be open from 11am to 5pm.
Nationwide
Nationwide will close its doors for the August Bank Holiday.
They recommend their members to use the Nationwide Branch Finder tool to get the latest information on their nearest branch.
Barclays
Barclays are not opening any of their branches on Monday, August 29, 2022.

Despite their branches being closed, if you need any urgent help during this time, Barclays' telephone banking services remain open throughout the whole weekend.

Halifax and the Royal Bank of Scotland are part of the Lloyds Banking Group – and all three will be closed for the Bank Holiday.
All branches will be completely closed on Monday, August 29, 2022.
HSBC
HSBC said their branches don't open on bank holidays, so you can expect all HSBC banks to be closed for the August Bank Holiday.
However, their contact centres are open from 8am to 8pm every day over the bank holiday weekend and customers can contact them through the telephone number found on the back of their card.
The mobile app and online banking services are available 24/7, and so if HSBC's LiveChat function.
HSBC said customers should use the Branch Locator tool on their website to find out what time their nearest branch is open on Saturday and Sunday of the bank holiday weekend.
Some branches might be closed.
Santander
All Santander branches are closed on Monday, August 29, 2022.
They then open during their normal hours from 9.30am till 4pm the following day.
On Sunday, 5 June, they are closed.
However, their contact centre remains open.
Santander also said that of customers needs to report fraud and lost or stolen cards, they can contact the bank on 08009123123, as this number is open 24/7 throughout the bank holiday weekend.

NatWest confirmed that they too are closed for the bank holiday weekend.
