Armie Hammer has resurfaced in Los Angeles more than a year after his self-inflicted banishment.
The “Call Me by Your Name” star was photographed Monday standing casually outside of Great White restaurant in Venice, Calif., wearing rolled-up gray pants, a graphic T-shirt and flip-flops. He held a face mask in one hand and a glass bottle of Pellegrino in the other.
It marks Hammer’s first appearance on US soil since he relocated to the Cayman Islands after his “cannibal” scandal. He has been in LA with estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers and their two kids, Harper, 7, and Ford, 5, for a couple of weeks staying at Robert Downey Jr.’s house.
Vanity Fair reported last week that the “Avengers” star, 57, has been financially supporting Hammer, 35, throughout his scandal — in which he has also accused of raping a woman known as Effie — and even footed the bill for his six-month stay in a Florida rehab center.
The “Death on the Nile” star and his family relocated to the City of Angels to escape media scrutiny after it was revealed that he had been selling timeshares in the Caymans.
“I can’t confirm or deny the report because Armie hasn’t addressed it,” Hammer’s attorney said in a statement to Page Six last Friday. “I just think it’s s–tty that, if he is selling timeshares, the media is shaming him for having a ‘normal job.’”
Hammer having a so-called “normal” job struck many as odd, given he is the great-grandson of oil tycoon Armand Hammer, but it turns out he has been “cut off” from the family fortune.
“His dad won’t help him anymore, and he’s been cut off, so he got to work,” a source told People of the disgraced actor, who has denied the allegations against him.
