A woman has destroyed and binned almost £2,300 worth of Balenciaga clothes over the brand’s controversial ad campaigns involving children.
Chloe Hennessey, 27, from East London, filmed herself cutting up a Balenciaga hoodie worth approximately £600.
She also binned a Balenciaga t-shirt, a pair of sunglasses and a pair of trainers, worth £1,700 in total.
The decision came after the luxury fashion house ran two controversial ad campaigns which saw them face backlash from fans around the world, including prominent American and Australian influencers.
Chloe Hennessey, 27, from East London has destroyed and binned almost £2,300 worth of Balenciaga clothes over the brand’s controversial ad campaigns involving children.
One featured children holding teddy bear purses that appear to be wearing bondage accessories, the other showed paperwork about a Supreme Court ruling on child sex images.
Angered fans have also called for more celebrities, including Nicole Kidman, to cut ties with the designer amid the scandal.
The fashion house has since apologised for both ads and removed them from their social media. However, some fans have taken their anger to the brand’s store in Beverly Hills, which was vandalised overnight.
A drawing of two children with the message: ‘Children are not sexual objects’ could be seen on the store’s facade in the early hours of today.

Chloe, who loves to post snaps of her outfits on social media, became aware of the Balenciaga scandal when people started leaving negative comments
Balenciaga have also filed a lawsuit against production company North Six, for its role in creating one of the ads.
Chloe, an aesthetics practitioner, found out about the scandal on TikTok, when she received negative comments after posting a video of herself wearing her Balenciaga glasses, worth £705.
After looking into it, Chloe decided to get rid of all the branded clothes and accessories she owned and pledged to never support the fashion house again.
Chloe is part of a larger movement of TikTok users, and creators alike, condemning the brand for what they see as the sexualisation of children.
Chloe said: ‘I actually love Balenciaga. They used to be my favourite brand.
‘I had been home with my son as he’s been sick, so I didn’t know what was going on, when I posted the video.

‘I was really confused about people calling me a paedophile.
‘After I started investigation my whole TikTok was flooded with videos about what happened. I felt sick to my stomach.
‘People have asked why I didn’t just donate my stuff, but if I did someone else would be wearing it and promoting them.
‘Obviously I’m not rich, so it was annoying to have to get rid of all of it, but taking a stand is so much more important in my opinion.’
THE BALENCIAGA SCANDAL: BONDAGE BEARS, CHILD PORN DOCS AND AN ARTIST KNOWN FOR DEPICTING NAKED KIDS
The Bondage Bears Christmas campaign
The scandal erupted when Balenciaga released its 2022 Holiday ad campaign that featured children posing with its Plush Toy Bag. The bags look like teddy bears and are dressed in BDSM gear.
In the photo shoot, the kids also appeared surrounded by empty wine and champagne glasses.
The distinctly adult themes immediately troubled many who asked why children had ever been used.
Balenciaga ignored the scandal at first and seemingly allowed the photographer who was involved, Gabriele Galimberti, to take the heat.
He released a statement saying he had no control over the content of the shoot and eventually, Balenciaga released its own statement agreeing with him and taking responsibility for the campaign.
It has now been pulled from the internet.
The hidden child porn documents
After the BDSM bears fiasco, eagle-eyed critics started examining the rest of Balenciaga’s campaigns closely.
They soon discovered that in the background of an image from the Spring ’23 campaign was a printout of a Supreme Court ruling on whether or not internet child porn can be legally considered free speech.
On the back of the bears scandal, many critics said it pointed to a troubling pattern within Balenciaga.
Balenciaga was quick to blame North Six, a production company that helped arrange the shoot, for the inclusion of those documents.
They claimed that they entrusted all of the props from the photoshoot to North Six, and that their team was assured everything that was included was fake.
The troubling book of artist whose work depicts naked, castrated toddlers
Balenciaga is yet to answer for the inclusion of a book by Michael Borremans in the background of two of the images from the Spring ’23 campaign.
Borremans is a Belgian painter whose work includes a troubling 2017 series called Fire From The Sun.
It depicts naked toddlers – some of them castrated – playing in a group and at times alone.
Lawyers for the brand are yet to address DailyMail.com’s questions about how the book ended up on the photoshoot.

Borremans’ other work includes his 2017 series Fire From The Sun, which features castrated toddlers and babies holding what look like severed limbs, while playing together nude in a large group
