Britain’s most expensive advent calendar is on sale for almost £22k

There was once a time when a Lindt chocolate advent calendar was considered the height of luxury.

But now, you’ll need almost £22,000 to get your hands on the ultimate in high end advent calendars.

The pricey calendar is the creation of jewellers, CW Sellors, and is made in the image of stately home Chatsworth House.

In the countdown to Christmas, you’ll discover a range of high-end gifts, from jewellery pieces to limited-edition gin.

Each item was specially selected by the jeweller’s in-house designer, Rebecca Sellors.

This year, there are seven versions of the calendar on sale – but the most expensive is the Chatsworth Winnats Luxury Advent Calendar, which is priced at an incredible £21,995.

Other gifts in the calendar include a 18ct heart-shaped rose gold pendant and white gold and diamond stud earrings.

While the most special item in the calendar is behind door number 24: a Faberge pendant with a Derbyshire Blue John gemstone. Yep, that Faberge.

The House of Faberge produced the legendary Faberge eggs between 1885 and 1917. Only 57 eggs survive today.

Meanwhile, the calendar serves a double purpose – after you’re done you can use it as a jewellery box.

For those who can’t afford the Chatsworth option, there are cheaper alternatives in the range too.

A ‘mid-range’ option is the Chatsworth Cliff Blue Advent Calendar which contains a Blue John Cross Heart pendant and a Lineaire Blue John bracelet.

It is also contains a watch, the Garmin Lily, as well as a Faberge candle – and will still set you back nearly £8,000.

Then there is the Chatsworth Pilsley advent calendar with Mother of Pearl earrings and a Christmas tree pendant. This comes in at a price of £995.
