A FAST-food giant has opened a store after a "futuristic" revamp – with staff celebrating its "exciting" new look.
The McDonald's branch in Newport, south Wales closed its doors this summer while the chain gave it a "Convenience of the Future" makeover.
Its front counters have now been scrapped – with customers now ordering through touch screens and the McDonald's app.
Delivery drivers picking up orders have a separate entrance and waiting area, shortening queues for everyone.
A "contemporary" dining area lets customers eat in peace away from the hubbub around the screens.
Franchise boss Jane Blackwell told the South Wales Argus: "It’s exciting to see the fresh new look and feel of our Newport Retail Park restaurant.

"I’m confident that this new look, as well as the changes behind the counter, will not only benefit our customers but also our staff.
"They have all been very complimentary about the changes behind the scenes that will make their job a little easier."
McDonald's has given 200 branches the same "futuristic" shake-up – with 800 more to follow over the next four years.
The chain's UK supremo Gareth Pearson said: "Our customers rightly expect to have choice in how and where they order and collect their food.
