We’ve all been there – you think you’ve found the right foundation shade for your skin, open it up, apply it and… it’s completely wrong.
There’s nothing more frustrating than discovering your new foundation is too orange, too pale, or too dark for your skin tone and not being able to return it, but thankfully Fenty has found a way to get rid of your shade-matching woes.
Fenty, which was created by singerRihanna, is already well known for its vast range of foundation shades, with its Fenty Beauty PRO FILT'R Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, £30 here, available in 50 different boundary breaking colours.
However, knowing exactly which of the 50 shades is the right one for you can still be tricky without seeing them on your face, which is why Fenty has just launched its brand new#ShadeMatching filter on TikTok.
The filter allows users to visualise the foundation shade around their face, so they can find the colour that suits them the best.
To get the most accurate results, the filter instructs you to angle your face towards natural lightning, such as facing a window, before selecting which section of shades you want to try.
Users can choose from light, light-medium, medium, medium-deep and deep, with each section bringing up a selection of different shades within that range to try. You then simply select the shade you want to try, and the filter brings up the colour to surround your face, so you can see how accurately it matches your skin tone.
You can cycle through as many different shades as you want until you find your perfect match, then simply visit one of the brand’s stockists, such as Boots, and add the Fenty Beauty PRO FILT'R Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, £30 here, in your chosen shade to your basket.
The foundation is one of Fenty’s original best-selling products, and features climate-adaptive technology that adjusts with your skin no matter what environment you’re in to fight heat, sweat and shine, so you can stay looking fresh morning or night
It has a buildable consistency and offers medium to full coverage without being heavy or cakey, and instantly smooths and diffuses the look of pores for a flawless, airbrushed looking finish.
One Boots shopper found the colour matched her skin so perfectly that they no longer wanted to apply fake tan, saying: “Stays on for a long time and applies so smooth, it makes me avoid putting on tan because the shade is for my natural skin tone (that’s how good it is!). Well worth the money”.
