IT’S the start of the weekend so why not celebrate with a delicious gin cocktail or mocktail?
I’ve got some recipes that are a doddle to make.
And they’re just as easy on your wallet. Cheers . . .
PINK GIN FIZZ: For this simple spritz, you’ll need 50ml of pink gin.
Tesco has a Gordon’s one at £16.50 for 70cl but Aldi’s Greyson’s version is only £12.99.
While you’re there grab a bottle of Prosecco from £7.99.

You’ll also need some lemonade, ideally pink.
Stir the gin with 25ml of the fizz, 150ml of lemonade and pour over ice.
Garnish with a fresh strawberry or frozen red berry fruit.
APPLE GIN SPRITZ: Take 50ml of dry gin (try Asda’s London dry gin, £11 for 70cl), and pour over ice.

Add 25ml of sparkling wine. Top up with apple juice and stir.
Squeeze the juice from a wedge of lime into the glass and then drop it in too.
RHUBARB GIN COBBLER: You’ll need a bottle of Lidl’s Hortus rhubarb gin liqueur, £8.99 for 50cl.
To make two drinks, mix 140ml of the liqueur with 60ml of lemon juice and chill in the fridge.
Gently heat six tablespoons of sugar in a pan with three tablespoons of water. Stir to form a syrup and leave to cool.
Stir 40ml of the syrup with the gin and lemon mix and divide into two glasses filled with ice. Top up with sparkling wine.
TEE-TOTAL TREAT: Try Haysmith's rhubarb & ginger spirit drink, £8.99 down from £9.99 for 70cl at Aldi.
Use it to mix your own zero-alcohol mocktails, with flavoured tonic, ginger beer or lemonade.
PRE-MIXED CANS: Tins of Gordon’s premium pink distilled gin and tonic are £1.65 for 250ml at Sainsbury’s.
But its own-brand gin and rose lemonade is £1.25 and it has rhubarb and ginger flavour for the same price.
Aldi has loads of different flavours starting from 89p a can.
