Neighbours is set to welcome TV royalty in the form of Mischa Barton, who has landed a part in the upcoming revival of the popular soap opera.
The Invitation to Murder star will play mysterious newcomer Reece, an American who rocks up in Ramsay Street with a secret, with subsequent scenes set to reveal that she’s not who she appears to be.
Consider us intrigued.
Neighbours, which was rescued by Amazon Freevee last year after being controversially axed by Channel 5, resumed production on Monday, with a premiere slated for autumn.
Mischa, best known for playing Marissa Cooper in The OC, was full of enthusiasm over joining Neighbours. ‘I’m excited to be part of this iconic show’s next chapter, and I am really looking forward to being back in Australia a place I know and love!,’ she said.
‘I think the character of Reece is going to be a great role for me to explore and play with.’
