You may think that growing up in a haunted house may put people off all things supernatural – but it only made Amanda Paulson even more intrigued.
The brunette, from Washington, US, now hunts down ghosts for a living and is a researcher and investigator for all things paranormal – and she's certainly seen some sights along the way.
Amanda has now opened up to Daily Star in an exclusive chat about her spooky career and supernatural beliefs.

Talking about how she first became interested in ghosts, she told us: "I had my first paranormal experience at the age of seven when I lived in a haunted duplex in the state of Montana. My dolls would move on their own at night and I would have nightmares about our basement being haunted.
"After that I was terrified of all thing paranormal but by the time I turned 18, this turned to fascination. So I decided to start ghost hunting on a team and my interest in ghosts has been growing never since."
Explaining how she got her ghost hunting career started, Amanda said she found a local ghost hunting team on Facebook.
She said: "I had read books and watched TV shows about ghost hunting and knew that being part of a team that traveled to different locations would be a great opportunity for me to gain a better perspective on the paranormal."
Talking about one of her wildest experiences with the paranormal, she revealed it happened the first ever time she used a Ouija board. She said: "I was fresh out of high school and staying at a friends new apartment.
"We decided to do the Ouija board exactly how the internet had said to – no phones, no electronics, no lights. Only candlelight.
"When we started using the board, the answers came through immediately, saying that it was a ghost of a man from the 1800s.
"Around this moment, there had been a fly buzzing around us, annoyingly. I asked my new ghostly friend if he could take care of it. That’s when the fly suddenly flew into our candle and lit itself on fire."
Amanda is 'very accepting and understanding' of people who are sceptical about ghosts and has even had times over the years where she has doubted it too.
"I’ve had times over the years when it’s hard to believe myself," she said. "But my goal is not to turn disbelievers.
"My goal is to help bring empathy, understanding and courage to those who do believe in ghosts."

The beauty admits she gets trolled over her career though, saying: "People laugh or joke when I tell them I hunt ghosts. I just tell them that it’s okay that they don’t believe.
"I would never force them to. But hunting ghosts helps me come to terms with my own mortality and helps me live a more fulfilling life while I have the time to. I hope they find a belief or interest that brings fulfilment to them too."
