A MAN who stopped playing the lottery for four years won a share of the massive £1m jackpot just weeks after returning to the game.
Myke Brooke, 50, from Dudley, West Midlands, bagged himself the huge lumpsum after signing up to the Postcode Lottery.
The dad-of-two stopped buying tickets after making the decision to spend his money on essentials only.
However, since losing his step-mum Kelly to cancer in January 2021, he started "praying to butterflies" and decided to buy another ticket last month.

He told BirminghamLive: "She loved butterflies and whenever I see one, I say, ‘Hi Kel’.

"It’s a life-changing amount of money and it couldn’t have come at a better time."
Myke said the last few years have been "so hard" but the money will be a huge help.
