An influencer has branded one item on the Wetherspoon Christmas menu a ’10/10′.

TikToker Leonie Smith (@leoniesmithh), from Manchester, was full of praise for a particularly tasty dish which she polished off in full.

The social media star sampled some of the pub chain’s festive plates in a video – which has racked up more than 10,900 views – but one stood out as a favourite; the chicken, stuffing, bacon & Brie pizza.

‘There were so many different things on the menu but I just went for the three small plates because I couldn’t decide what I wanted,’ she told viewers.

‘I got the Brie cheesy chips, chicken stuffing bacon pizza and then some pigs in blankets and cranberry sauce.

‘Everything tasted absolutely amazing. My favourite thing probably was the pizza – I finished that.’

Leonie – who has more than 57,100 viewers on TikTok and makes lifestyle content – said she would ’10/10 recommend absolutely everything’.

‘Get yourself to Spoons,’ she concluded.

It comes as earlier this month, reports revealed that Wetherspoon has hiked the price of its Christmas dinner by a staggering 13 per cent this year.

The budget pub giant released a festive menu filled with all the classics, including its trademark Christmas dinner with all the works.

Hundreds of Wetherspoon pubs will be serving the 2023 Christmas menu from Wednesday November 15 to Sunday December 31, excluding Christmas Day.

Featuring on the Christmas plate is turkey breast, pork, apricot and cranberry stuffing, roasted chantenay carrots and parsnips, maris piper mash, two pigs-in-blankets, peas, cranberry sauce and gravy.

This year, the Christmas dinner will set pub-goers back £12.05 with a soft drink or £13.52 with an alcoholic beverage. Just 12 months ago, the Christmas dinner was £10.69 with a soft drink, or £11.99 with a glass of bubbly.

That means it has gone up sharply by almost 13 per cent with or without alcohol for exactly the same meal.

Spoons’ festive menu is a calendar staple for many who love the chain’s bargain foodie offerings but this year diners will be shelling out more.

They will be offering festive meals and Deli Deals which include a choice of alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink.

Customers will be able to enjoy the full Christmas dinner, which is exactly the same as last year, as well as a selection of three festive burgers, the big cheese burger, a brie & bacon burger and a chicken and stuffing burger.

The big cheese burger will set customers back £10.20 with a soft drink or £11.67 with an alcoholic drink. This has also increased 13 per cent since last year when it was £9.05 with a soft drink and £10.35 with an alcoholic drink, The Sun reported at the time.

There will also be two 11-inch pizzas: a chicken, stuffing, bacon and brie pizza and a brie and garlic mushroom pizza.

The pizzas have not been as badly impacted by the price hike, with the chicken, stuffing, bacon and brie rising from £9.40 last year to £9.47 with a soft drink but a sharper £10.70 to £10.94 with an alcoholic beverage.

The Deli Deals feature a chicken, stuffing, bacon and cranberry panini and a brie and cranberry panini.

Also on the festive menu are small plates, a children’s meal and a choice of desserts.

Prices may vary at different pubs.

Wetherspoon delivered customers a blow to their pockets earlier this year when it hiked prices by up to 13 per cent on many items.

Experts said the chain had struggled to continue to offer bargain bucket prices amid the storm of inflation.

Susannah Streeter, head of money and markets at Hargreaves Lansdown, said earlier this year: ‘According to Kantar, grocery inflation is still running just shy of 13 per cent in the year to August, so Wetherspoons isn’t bucking any trends, and still appears to be absorbing a big chunk of price increases rather than passing on the full amount of higher wholesale costs customers.

‘So, even with hikes on menus, its budget credentials still appear largely intact, given the rising tide of prices across the pub and restaurant sector as a whole.’

A Spoons spokesman said at the time that higher costs had led to price increases, with their excise duty payment on alcoholic drinks alone rising by a staggering £8m a year.

The same spokesman said: ‘The Christmas meal price has gone up as a percentage exactly in line with the rest of the menu.’
