Kylie Jenner has opened up about her postpartum journey as she shared a frank and engaging insight with her fans on social media about the changes her body underwent following the birth of her second child.
The reality star turned entrepreneur welcomed her second child with husband Travis Scott back in February, and while she has opted to keep her child’s life private (including his name!) she has given fans a raw and unashamed insight into her postpartum journey as she continues to try and be as healthy as she can be.
Taking to Instagram, the youngest KarJenner sibling revealed she had been working out in an attempt to shed her baby weight, but rather than opting for a crash diet or rigorous bulk and shred, the star was taking it slow and steady instead.
In a recent post, Kylie explained that she had ”Gained 60lbs again this pregnancy” as she appeared in a video walking on a treadmill.
"Down 40lbs" she continued, before also adding the prayer hands emoji. "Just trying to be healthy and patient.”
Four months postpartum, Kylie also shared the reality of her own body, which included admitting she still suffered from aches and pains that were making her workouts more difficult.
“4 months postpartum. I have been dealing w tons of back & knee pain this time so it slows down my workouts but I am on a mission to get strong again, “ wrote the star.
For Kylie’s main workouts, the star revealed she had been enjoying low intensity activities such as walking and pilates, which are both popular activities for new mums and recommended by the NHS for mums who are at least 6 weeks postpartum.
"Walking/pilates is my favourite combo,” said Kylie.
Alongside improving her physical fitness, the exercises can also help to offer some mental respite too, with the mum of two having recently explained she had struggled with her mental health following her pregnancy.
Once again taking to Instagram, Kylie admitted she had been struggling physically, mentally and spiritually, in a heartfelt post that helped to break down the taboo women have about discussing their postpartum, struggles.
"This experience for me personally has been a little harder than with my daughter [Stormi], “ began Kylie.
She then continued: "It's not easy mentally, physically, spiritually, it's just crazy. And yeah, I didn't just want to get back to life without saying that because I think we can look on the internet — for other moms going through it right now — we can go on the internet, and it might look a lot easier for other people, and put the pressure on us, but it hasn't been easy for me.”
Stressing just how difficult postpartum life can be, Kylie went on to encourage other new parents to share their feelings with their loved ones and know that it’s okay to be struggling.
"It's OK not to be OK," she said. "Once I realised that I was putting some pressure on myself… And I just keep reminding myself I made a whole human, a beautiful healthy boy.”
Kylie then rounded off the post by adding: "We have to stop putting pressure on ourselves to be 'back'. Not even physically, just mentally, after birth. So yeah, just sending some love. I love you guys!"
