Jane Fonda and Robert Redford may have starred in four movies together, but he wasn’t always the most pleasant co-star.
“He did not like to kiss,” the “Grace and Frankie” alum shadily said Friday during the 2023 Cannes Film Festival (via Deadline), seemingly referring to the on-screen lovers’ PDA-filled scenes.
“I never said anything [to him about it], and he’s always in a bad mood, and I always thought it was my fault.”
Redford has played Fonda’s leading man in films including “Barefoot in the Park” (1967) and “The Electric Horseman” (1979).
“He’s a very good person,” she added. “He just has an issue with women.”
Despite his apparent “issue,” on which she did not elaborate, the Oscar-winning actress, 85, admitted she was “in love with” the “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” actor, 86, at one time for his sense of humor.

Fonda most recently worked with Redford on 2017’s “Our Souls at Night,” during which she realized that while he remained the same, she had very much changed.
“What was I, about 80 years old or something like that? And I finally knew I had grown up,” she said.
“When he would come on the set three hours late in a bad mood, I knew it wasn’t my fault.”
Nonetheless, the “Monster-in-Law” star clarified, “We always had a good time.”
Fonda’s latest comments contradict what she confessed in 2017 about filming sex scenes with Redford.
“I live for sex scenes with him,” she shared at the time. “He doesn’t like sex scenes, [but] he’s a great kisser.”
Redford also said that his friendship with Fonda has “always been easy” because of the “love” they have for each other.
“There’s a love there, there’s a connection there,” he said in the same 2017 interview. “It has to do with what your attitude is about work and what is your attitude about life.”
