  • Jenna and Barbara, both 41, traveled to their home state for their latest book tour
  • The sisters had a special dinner with their parents to ring in their mom’s birthday
  • The Bushes also celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary over the weekend

Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Pierce Bush had a special dinner with just their parents for the first time in ‘a decade’ while celebrating their mother’s birthday.

The 41-year-old twin sisters flew to their home state of Texas without their husbands and children to promote their new children’s book, Love Comes First, which comes out on Tuesday.

Jenna and Barbara made sure to spend some quality time with their parents, former President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush, who turned 77 on Saturday.

The Today host took to Instagram on Sunday — the day of her parents’ 46th wedding anniversary — to post sweet photos of them eating together as a family of four.

The Bushes celebrated the former first lady’s 77th birthday, as well as their 46th wedding anniversary, while their daughters were back in their home state of Texas

Ahead of their family dinner, Jenna and Barbara joined their mother for a meet-and-greet at the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas to promote their new book Love Comes First

Jenna shared a snapshot of herself and Barbara beaming while sitting across from their mom and dad, as well as a picture of their parents cozied up next to each other.

‘Happiest birthday to our darling mama! [We’re] so happy to get to spend the night with you just the four of us! We love you so! @laurawbush AND happiest 46 years to our parents. Love you both!’ she wrote in the caption.

Jenna opened up about the memorable moment on the Today show Monday while chatting with her cohost Hoda Kotb about her whirlwind book tour in Texas, saying they made five stops in just three days.

‘We went to dinner just the four of us and what we realized is, I don’t think we’ve been just the four of us in almost 20 years,’ she explained.

‘That’s an exaggeration,’ she corrected herself. ‘But let’s say a decade, because I have had a husband for a long time, we’ve had children for 10 years, Barbara’s had boyfriends and husbands, et cetera, et cetera.’

Hoda, 59, immediately laughed and wanted to know what she meant by ‘et cetera et cetera,’ and Jenna clarified that Barbara had a few boyfriends before she married her husband, Craig Coyne.

Barbara and Craig have a daughter, Cora Georgia, who turned two on September 27.

Meanwhile, Jenna and her husband of 15 years, Henry Hager, are parents to three children, Mila, ten, Poppy, eight, and Hal, four.

‘There was something about it that was really special, to be just the four of us,’ Jenna said of their dinner on the Today show Monday

Jenna told her cohost Hoda Kotb that their dad watched a football game while their mom opened presents after dinner, saying they were in bed by 8:45 p.m.

‘There was something about it that was really special, to be just the four of us,’ the former first daughter said of their dinner.

‘We had the best time and then we went and all got in bed,’ she added. ‘My dad was watching some sort of football game, and my mom opened her presents. And then we went to bed at 8:45. Anyway, it was so much fun.’

She also noted that they had plenty of queso — her favorite food — while in Texas.

Ahead of their family dinner, Jenna and Barbara joined their mother for a meet-and-greet at the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas to promote their book.

The twins brought out their mother a chocolate cake during the event, and in a video shared on Instagram, they can be seen singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to her.

‘Happiest of birthdays to Mrs. @laurawbush, from all of us with love!’ the caption read. ‘At today’s Love Comes First event with Jenna and Barbara, the first guests into the event joined the first daughters in celebration of their mom.’

The Bush twins also ended up having dinner with Chip and Joanna Gaines while visiting their new boutique hotel, Hotel 1928, in Waco, Texas
