One of the men who infamously robbed Kim Kardashian at gunpoint in Paris just gave an interview, and his revelations about the heist have been making headlines. Though he spent nearly two years in jail for the crime, Yunis Abbas admits he has no regrets.
“Since she was throwing money away, I was there to collect it, and that was that. Guilty? No, I don’t care,” he said in a video interview with VICE.

“I went on the internet, and it’s true, I saw her jewelry, I saw her ring, I saw that she showed it everywhere, and we knew this information through social media,” Yunis added.
In 2016, multiple gunmen gagged and bound Kim after breaking into her Parisian hotel room. They made off with over $10 million in jewelry, including a $4.5 million ring gifted by her then-husband Kanye West. She was eventually able to break free of her restraints after the robbers left the room.

Since the incident, there’s been speculation over how the thieves pulled off the robbery – and now we have answers. In the interview, Yunis went into detail about how he and his 11 accomplices organized the heist.
Yunis admitted that before the heist, “I honestly didn’t really know her.” But he says the reality star’s flashy lifestyle caught his attention.
“I saw one of her shows where she threw her diamond in the pool in that episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” he said. “I thought, ‘She’s got a lot of money. This lady doesn’t care at all.’”
Yunis said he and his “co-workers” followed Kim’s movements on social media. They figured out what hotel she was staying at and were able to overpower the concierge, which allowed them access to Kim’s room.
“As soon as we got in, we took control of the concierge. We overpowered him,” he continued. “We tied him up. But then we looked for the keys of the bedroom she stayed in.” Yunis admitted he expects that Kim is “traumatized” from the experience.

Yunis had some simple advice for how others can avoid getting robbed like Kim – don’t flaunt your wealth on social media. “They should be a little less showy towards people who can’t afford it. For some people, it’s provocative,” he said.
Yunis spent 22 months in jail after admitted to his involvement in the robbery. He was eventually released due to heart-related health problems. However, last November 12 people (including Yunis) were indicted in connection to the robbery. The trial is pending.
Since the robbery, Yunis has released a memoir called I Robbed Kim Kardashian. A French court ruled last year that he cannot profit from the book. Despite admitting to the crime, Yunis is pleading not guilty to all charges.
