Jurassic Park is probably still one of the most iconic films to this day, thanks to its expert direction from Steven Spielberg.
Not to mention its cutting edge and pioneering CGI, and its memorable characters – iIncluding Lex Murphy, the constantly perplexed-looking granddaughter of the park founder, John Hammond (Richard Attenborough).
First released in 1993, the major movie followed a group of scientists who were left fighting for their lives on an island filled with genetically cloned dinosaurs.
But amongst the other actors who took part in the film – Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, Samuel L Jackson – all of whom continued their acting careers, Ariana Richards who played the role of Lex seemingly disappeared from the spotlight.
And now, she looks completely unrecognisable from the youngster she once was, when we first met the child star.
Ariana, 43, has become a talented painter, and makes a living from creating beautiful art.
From portraits, landscapes, and the odd reference to her past life as a movie star following some artwork featuring dinosaurs, her life now is a lot different away from the prying eyes of the media.
Following the film, she appeared in smaller roles that were a lot more tame than Jurassic Park, including television episodes of The Golden Girls, Empty Nest and Boy Meets World.
While still acting, Ariana decided to go to art school, and earned herself a degree in Fine Art and Drama.
She then took classes at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, before finally making the decision to pursue art full time. Her last role to date was the 2013 film Battledogs.
While boasting a respectable 59.9K followers on Instagram, Ariana's grid does pay homage to the film that made her famous, including its trailer, which she posted on its 30th birthday.
She’s also been to plenty of Jurassic Park themed events, and it looks as though she’s kept in touch with some of her former cast, including Jeff Goldblum.
When it comes to her style, she seems to love the casual life, and often dons comfy jumpers and leggings – perfect attire for an artist at work. Family life wise, she’s been married to her husband, Mark Bolton since January 2013, and the couple share one child together, a daughter, who they welcomed in 2015.
