‘Kate Middleton sings in tune, rock climbs and is educated – she’ll be a perfect Queen’

After King Charles acceded the throne in September following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II, key members of the royal family were instantly promoted and took on new responsibilities.

From Prince William now being next in line for the crown to the younger royals gaining their Prince and Princess titles, Kate Middleton also advanced one step further to becoming the future Queen.

Speaking to OK! in an exclusive interview, Royal Expert Tessa Dunlop revealed how the Princess of Wales will take to the job like “a duck to water”, after being “trained for many years.”

Explaining how the mum of three is a product of a “disciplinarian, quite hierarchical, ordered way of growing up,” she illustrated how her life before William was “helpful for entering the Royal family.”

“She sings in tune, she plays the piano, she rock climbs, she plays tennis. She can wheel out these surprising assets when we’re least expecting them and that makes her feel accomplished, educated, attractive, and not frightening at the same time," Tessa said.

This narrative comes as the UK – and the royals – prepare for the Coronation of King Charles III on 6th May.

And while all eyes will be on the King, there’s no denying that Kate – whose Coronation outfit is "being discussed" – will garner plenty of attention herself, with many watching with the idea that one day, it will be the Prince and Princess of Wales becoming head of state.

According to Tessa, Kate is somewhat of a reincarnation of Queen Mary, who was “really successful and important to the Royal family.” Plus, someone who really understood its values and understood what marrying into the monarchy brings.

She then explained how the Princess mirrors these principles, especially when it comes to being timeless.

“She knows about the imaging around timelessness, so for years Kate looked like she was dressing too old for her age but now it is timeless, unchanging, constant Kate.”

It’s not just wardrobe-wise, either. Tessa went on to point out how Kate has been a constant figure in the British public, always doing and saying the "right thing at the right time".

“Britain’s going through a rough time but there’s Kate supporting Wales as she should be at the rugby, or there she is doing the right thing at the beginning of the term with her three children,” she said.

“She’s a reassuring presence,” Tessa concluded, while adding that she’s a “team player” and “completes the picture.”

Tessa then compared Kate with her sister in law, Meghan Markle, explaining how the two come from completely different worlds – a world that Kate was prepared and trained for “without even realising it.”

“Meghan comes from Hollywood, her dad was a reasonably successful lighting director.”

“But it's a very different environment. In Hollywood, it's about climbing over other people to get that role, to get the gig, to improve the rating to be better than the next one, that's ambition.”

In terms of Kate, Tessa described her as having “appropriate levels of self possession within a system,” and a “don’t rock the boat” nature.

“You make change through embracing the institution almost, the paradox,” she said, before adding: “Meghan's the other way around, like inverted versions of each other.”

Many Kate fans will know that before she took on the role as a working royal, she was in fact employed in both of these roles.

At just 24, she bagged a position as an accessories buyer at high-end fashion store, Jigsaw, where her parents were friends with the owners before leaving in 2007 to work for Party Pieces – the family company.

Regardless of her previous employments, it seems Kate is in good stead for her future royal career.

She’s already the “people’s princess” and as the Royal Expert said, has been “brilliantly trained” to take up the role of Queen.
