As the sharply dressed uncle of the Duchess of Cambridge, Gary Goldsmith has always stood out in a crowd.
And now the flamboyant businessman has made himself even more conspicuous – by getting a Harley Street hair transplant.
While many celebrities go to pains to hide the procedure, the 57-year-old is embracing his new hairline as it takes shape.
He told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Do you know what, f**k it, I’m coming out. I want the world to know. I just think too many people don’t really talk about it.
‘It’s good to be open. I didn’t want people to think I’m a pompous t***, I wanted to just be really honest about it.’

The £3,000 procedure involves removing hair follicles from the back of the head and inserting them into the front of the scalp.
Gary, who is the younger brother of Carole Middleton, said the transplant had been painless – but admitted there had been a lot of blood.
Gary, who advises a recruitment business, said doctors at the Wimpole Clinic were keen to manage expectations.
‘Before I had even sat down in my chair, [the doctor] said, ‘Alright, let’s face facts here G, you’re trying to re-turf Wembley and all you’ve got is a couple of window boxes, so I don’t know what you’re expecting, but let’s see what we can do’.’
Gary said he had been unable to wash his hair for a week after the procedure in case the delicate new tufts of hair were washed away.
But he made a decision not to hide his reddened new hairline while recovering at Tesoro de Oro, his Ibiza villa, formerly known as La Maison de Bang Bang.
Gary, who has to undergo a second transplant early next year, said: ‘At first I couldn’t get in the pool, I couldn’t go in the sun, I couldn’t do anything.
But I proper owned it and went out to restaurants, I was on a flight with no hat on with blood all over my head. People were asking if I was alright, it was very funny.’
He added: ‘It’s not like a vanity project, it’s not about trying to change me.
‘But I think for a lot of people it might boost their self confidence, or their inner self, or it might be that that might be their crowning glory.’
