Lady Gaga is facing a new lawsuit filed by the woman who returned her dogs in 2021 after they were stolen. The woman, Jennifer McBride, claims that the singer hasn’t paid her the $500,000 reward that was promised, which may be because she was eventually charged in connection to the original robbery.
In February 2021, Lady Gaga’s two French bulldogs were stolen while out with her dog walker, Ryan Fischer, who was shot in the process. He had been walking three of her dogs when a white Nissan Altima pulled up beside him and two people jumped out.

The perpetrators demanded Ryan hand over the dogs, though he resisted. This led to a physical conflict in which Ryan was shot and the assailants made off with two of the dogs.
“Suspect-1 is described as a male black, 20-25 years of age, blond dreadlocks, wearing a black hoodie, LAPD said of the suspects. “Suspect-2 is further described as a male black, 20-25 years of age, wearing dark clothing.”
Ryan suffered multiple injuries, including a collapsed lung, but made a full recovery. He stayed with Lady Gaga following the assault.

Moreover, the dogs were returned shortly after the singer offered a $500,000 reward with “no questions asked” to the returnee. Jennifer called the police after she says she found the bulldogs tied to a pole in Los Angeles, though unharmed.
At the time, local police said that Jennifer seemed to be “uninvolved and unassociated” with the original robbery, though she later became a suspect when it was discovered she was in a relationship with one of the men believed to have orchestrated the crime.
By April, five people were arrested for the robbery, including Jennifer. Apparently, Lady Gaga never issued the half-million reward to Jennifer in light of the news, resulting in the new lawsuit.
According to court documents, Jennifer claims she was “defrauded” by Lady Gaga “by making a promise without intent to perform.”
Not only is she looking for the original reward, but also compensation for mental anguish and loss of enjoyment as a result of the situation, totalling $1.5 million.

The case argues that Lady Gaga offered the reward “with the intent to defraud and induce members of the public, such as Plaintiff, to rely upon it and to act upon said promise by locating and delivering Lady Gaga’s bulldogs to Defendants.”
So far, Lady Gaga hasn’t publicly responded to Jennifer’s lawsuit.
