Love Island opens applications: How to apply to be on the ITV show

Love Island has finished for another year, but ITV bosses are already searching for sexy singletons to take part in next year's series.

The search has begun for 2023 Islanders with applications officially open, and if you've always wondered what life is like in the famous villa then maybe it could be your time to shine on the ITV2 dating show.

Those hoping to land a spot on the show simply have to fill out an application form with numerous details about themselves, and there's only a handful of eligibility requirements.

Every applicant must be at least 18 years old at the time of submitting their application and be available to participate in Love Island for a minimum of 10 consecutive weeks during the summer of 2023.

You also cannot be currently employed by Love Island, Motion, ITV or any company owned by ITV plc, and you must not be a live-in partner or immediate relative of someone who works on Love Island.

Alongside these requirements, every applicant must already hold or be able to obtain a passport which is valid until at least six months after the programme end date.

The advertisement reads: "ITV2 are looking for vibrant singles from across the UK who want to head to the sun, in search of love. The chosen cast will spend time in a luxury villa, getting to know one another, but to remain in paradise they must win the hearts of the public and their fellow Islanders who ultimately decide their fate on Love Island."

ITV will keep your application for up to one year and in that time you could be considered for any series of the programme, but after this your details will be deleted and you will have to apply again if you wish to.

An audition or casting period is yet to be confirmed and applications will remain open until an end date is published on the official Love Island website.

However, it looks like good news for both those who wish to appear on the dating show and those that are obsessed with watching it, as the next series of Love Island is only a matter of months away.

ITV have confirmed that Winter Love Island will be making a return at the beginning of 2023, meaning fans don't have to wait a whole year for their next fix of the hit reality TV show.

There's only ever been one winter edition of the show, which aired in 2020 with Paige Turley and Finn Tapp being crowned winners.

Winter Love Island was filmed in South Africa and didn't return in 2021 or 2022 due to pandemic-related reasons.
