A MAJOR DIY chain with 153 stores has confirmed the exact date a huge branch will close.
Homebase is pulling the plug on its shop at the O2 Centre on Finchley Road, London.
The landlord is redeveloping the site meaning Homebase has to shut the store.
The official closing date for this Homebase branch is December 10 this year.
It comes after the retailer announced it would be shutting down a South Wales shop this month.
The DIY and garden specialist will shut its Newport store for good on Friday, September 8.

It's the sixth store to close in Wales since 2018 when three stores in Cardiff closed.
It also follows the closure of a single store in Wrexham and another in Swansea.
It means that after September 8 only two Homebase stores will keep a presence in the country.
The high street has been hit hard in recent years due to the growth of online shopping, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

At the same time the cost of living has been rising, leading to shoppers cutting back on non-essential spending.
Brick and mortar stores have also seen a lack of footfall due to consumer habits switching to online shopping.
A whole host of retailers have pulled down the shutters on several stores across the UK.
Tesco will be pulling down the shutters on one of its sites in the coming days.
Its superstore branch in Wakefield will close for the final time on September 15.
The store was previously converted from the chain's discount brand Jack's to a Tesco in 2022.
Tesco closed its Jack's supermarkets last year, converting six of the 13 branches into new Tesco superstores, while the others permanently shut.
While House of Fraser confirmed to The Sun that its branch in Guildford will shut on Saturday, September 30.
