A man’s wedding ring that went missing during a Tough Mudder race has been found in just minutes thanks to ten metal detectorists.
Lee Armstrong, from Tutbury in Staffordshire, realised his special piece of jewellery was missing when taking part in the obstacle course at Belvoir Castle, in Leicestershire, last Saturday, reported the BBC.
He and his wife Nicki soon shared an urgent plea for help to find the platinum band – with BBC Radio Lincolnshire calling on metal detectorists to assist discovering the treasured item.
Thankfully, it was discovered Friday morning after ten metal detectorists were given one hour to locate the ring on the grounds of the castle. It was reportedly found within just a few minutes of the group starting their search.
Mr Armstrong admitted he feared the ring would not be recovered within the time frame and was ‘stunned’ that it was found.

He said: ‘In such a wide area to find this tiny little thing that’s so precious to us – it’s just incredible really.’
His wife added: ‘I’m just so, so pleased – I can’t stop smiling. I was hoping, but I didn’t think we’d get it, and I’m delighted that we have.’
A clip of the couple finding their ring alongside the team of metal detectorists was also shared by the publication.
In the footage, the team can be heard cheering when someone reveals ‘there it is’ after discovering the band hidden in the grass.
