A ‘natural-minded’ mother who doesn’t take pills of any kind has faced backlash after sharing the homeopathic remedies she used to treat her teenage daughter’s cold.

Kasi Comunale, 40, from Florida, is an integrative nutrition health coach and the founder of Alms & Wellness. She has more than 138,000 followers on TikTok, where she touts natural treatments.

The content creator, who is known as @natural_minded_mama, went viral after demonstrating how she cared for her daughter Kiley without traditional medicine.

‘Well, My oldest daughter ended up getting sick,’ she said of the teen catching her cold. ‘Let me show you exactly what I do to get her feeling better.’

Comunale began by filling an oil diffuser with an ‘immunity blend’ and letting it run in Kiley’s bedroom.

She then painted iodine on her daughter’s neck and glands in an attempt to ease her sore throat before giving her a tube of Boiron Oscillococcinum, a homeopathic flu medicine.

‘Boiron for the win. Don’t ask me [how] to pronounce this,’ she said of the product.

The mom continued her treatment by massaging a chest rub onto her daughter’s skin ‘to help her breathe’ — but she wasn’t even close to being done.

‘To pull out toxins, I’m going to place sliced potatoes on the bottom of her feet and keep them secure with a sock,’ she explained.

Next, I place a cold pack in a sock and put that on her head to make her feel better. She has a low-grade fever, and it just gives her a little bit more comfort.’

Finally, Comunale rubbed oil of oregano into her daughter’s ear for her earache.

‘Kiley, honest feedback. After one hour, how do you feel?’ she asked her daughter, who gave her the middle finger in response.

I’m feeling better after only 24 hours and I know she will too! I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice. ‘She’s always been my favorite patient,’ the mom joked.

Comunale wrote in the caption that these remedies helped her feel better when she was sick, and she knew they would help her daughter too.

But she also noted that she is ‘not a doctor’ and ‘this is not medical advice.’

Comunale’s video has been viewed 20.6 million times and has received more than 10,000 comments about her remedies, which are not scientifically proven to work.

Many critics slammed the mom for not only touting pseudoscience but for also filming her daughter when she was sick.

‘Imagine feeling like a s**t and then your mom comes in filming a TikTok while shoving potatoes down your sock.

‘Holy f*****g s**t this is almost worse than the essential oils nut jobs. Poor kid,’ another added.

‘JFC I thought this was a parody,’ someone else admitted.

However, others shared how their mothers used to treat them with the same remedies, insisting that they work.

‘My mom treats me the same way when I’m sick, and I’ve never been sick for more than 24 hours,’ one fan replied. ‘Don’t listen to the negativity. [You’re] a good mom.’

‘My mom would grate garlic and rub it on the bottoms of my feet,’ someone else commented. ‘I’d feel almost back to normal in the morning.’

‘Holistic mothers are the best,’ another added. ‘My mom would always put a humidifier in my room and made me sit outside for bit.’

Comunale later posted a follow-up video in response to the people who asked her why she wouldn’t just give her daughter ‘Tylenol’ or other ‘regular medicine.’

She explained that she personally doesn’t ‘take pills of any kind,’ including antibiotics.

‘I don’t take anything. My family doesn’t take anything. That is our way of life,’ she said. ‘So I understand when somebody sees a video of mine, and you don’t live the lifestyle that I do.

‘You comment this because for you, that’s what you take and that’s the norm,’ she continued. ‘But that’s not the norm for me. Just like doing what I do isn’t the norm for you. So there’s room for everybody.

‘There’s no right or wrong way, and it is what it is.’
