- The Maryland native used intermittent fasting and a calorie deficit

A mother-of-one has revealed how she dropped a staggering 70 pounds in only eight months – without taking on a rigorous workout routine or forfeiting her favorite cookies and chips.
In late 2022, Caroline Mabeus weighed 200 pounds, however she has since slimmed down to 125 pounds – and is now opening up about the simple techniques she used to transform her figure.
The Maryland native achieved her fitness goals through using her two strategies of intermittent fasting and a calorie deficit.
She stayed disciplined by only eating during an eight-hour period and fasting for the other 16 hours of the day. Caroline also found healthy food options and dessert alternatives to stay within her calorie range.

She used a Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) Calculator that she found online, which provided her a personalized calorie breakdown using her personal information such as height, current weight and activity level.
Caroline made sure to drink lots of water, eat a high-protein diet, not consume fried foods or high sugar desserts, and overall made healthy food choices.
Believe it or not, she didn’t exercise at all in order to lose weight.
She explained in one of her captions: ‘Your diet and food choices are 90 percent of it friends. Working out or exercising will definitely help you lose weight but it starts with what you fuel your body with!
‘I started by making healthy choices, found my deficit, starting fasting, and now I’m here [70 pounds down] and I can’t believe it! You can do it!’
In one of her ‘what I eat in a day’ videos she features a breakdown of her daily 1750 calorie intake after losing the weight.
For breakfast she has coffee and a Jimmy Dean sandwich. For lunch she has a teriyaki salmon burger with sides of broccoli and rice.

For snacks she has veggie straws and a Fiber One brownie. Her dinner includes a Powerade Zero and the same meal that she had for lunch.
Her grocery list consists of chicken breast tenderloins, ground turkey, Italian dry salami with natural gouda and toasted rounds, and lots of vegetables and fruits.
Caroline’s options for snacks are baked potato chips, string cheese, turkey bites, snack bars, ice pops, and cookie wafers.
She argues: ‘You can have delicious desserts that aren’t a million calories and that’s honestly what I’ve done.’
Caroline not only posts about her physical transformation, but her emotional one as well.
In one of her videos, she is shown ‘before’ her weight loss in October 2022, writing: ‘Depressed, unhealthy, uncomfortable in my own skin, praying to figure out how to love myself, and you can see the pain in my eyes.’

She then shows herself ‘after’ weight loss in July 2023 and wrote: ‘Confident, learned to love myself again, healthy and most importantly happy.’
Despite the joy she’s gotten from getting healthier and leaner she still faces some mental obstacles.
Caroline opened up vulnerably about some emotional difficulties that she’s still overcoming which include: ‘Having a hard time recognizing herself [physically], and thinking she’s bigger than she actually is.’
She also deals with ‘getting backhanded compliments often like, ‘Wow you look so good now that you lost weight,” and learning that weight loss won’t make you love yourself unless you heal yourself first.’
