There’s nothing quite like the British summertime, with its ever-changing temperatures forcing us to battle with blazing sunshine one moment and unexpected downpours the next, which mean we often end up woefully unprepared for the sudden weather change.
As we start to head towards autumn, it’s more important than ever to find something that’s going to help keep you warm and dry, whilst also being versatile enough to work for the last few sunny days of the year.
If you’re anything like us, by now you’ll be absolutely fed up of ending up soaked through from the rain, or left carrying a bulky jacket around in the heat, which is why shoppers have been going wild for Marks and Spencer’s perfect transitional jacket.
The Recycled Thermowarmth Lightweight Quilted Jacket, £35 here, has been hailed as the ultimate jacket for all seasons thanks to how lightweight and comfortable it is, whilst still being rain-repellant and warm.
Women’s blazers to suit all budgets – including £40 luxe-looking New Look fit
Made from recycled polyester, the jacket helps protect you from sudden downpours and showers thanks to the water-resistant Stormwear technology, whilst the ribbed neck and Thermowarmth insulation help make sure you stay warm and cosy – perfect as we head into autumn.
However, we’re not quite waving goodbye to sunnier days just yet, and the quilted jacket is lightweight enough to be rolled up and popped into your bag when the temperatures rise, meaning you won’t be stuck lugging a heavy raincoat around all day.
The Recycled Thermowarmth Lightweight Quilted Jacket, £35 here, has a zip up front and practical pockets, with curved vents that help give it a flattering and relaxed fit that shoppers can't stop raving about.
“I sized down from a 14 to 12 because I wanted a more hip fit and it worked. Love this jacket – the hunter green is so versatile and cool. Great for the transition to colder weather too,” wrote one, whilst another said: “I bought the same jacket in black last year because the khaki had sold out so when I saw it was back this year I jumped at the chance to buy it. So lightweight but warm and stylish. It’s great for travelling as so light and easy to pack.”
A third also couldn’t resist buying it in multiple colours, saying: “So good I bought two, one blue one green. The sleeves are a tad long as they always seem to be these days, but not so long that it's a problem. The jacket is lightweight but feels like it would still be snug on a chilly late summer evening. The style looks like it will be a classic that will see me through several years. Very pleased with my purchase.”
The jack is available in five different colours – hunter green, black, flame red, navy and blue – with the red and blue versions already sold out.
However the other colours are still in stock with sizes 6-24 available, with several shoppers commenting on the generous oversized fit that means you can either size down, or add plenty of warm layers underneath when the temperature drops.
