Even as a fully fledged grown-up, sometimes, only a Disney movie will do.
Whether it’s an old-school classic like Snow White, a newer favourite aka Frozen, or a live action remake, the nostalgia of Disney is like a cosy hug.
But one fan brings Disney magic into her life all day, every day.
Mum-of-three Rebecca Day has huge collection of Disney memorabilia, including backpacks, toys and over 500 pairs of socks.
She’s spent over £12,000 and travelled over ten thousand miles – visiting stores and theme parks – picking up various items.
And she says her spending really ramped up in lockdown, when she spent all of her disposable income on Disney merch.
The 33-year-old from Reading, has always been a huge fan of Disney but her obsession truly started after she made her first ever trip to Disneyland Paris, back in 2018, with her three children.
She said: ‘I’ve always been a massive fan of Disney.
‘Growing up, I watched all the movies, dressing up in cute princess outfits.
‘But my love of Disney really started after my first ever trip to a Disney park, which was Disneyland Paris in 2018.
‘It was mine and my children’s first time, and it was just so magical.’
Rebecca began collecting in 2018, buying different Disney items such as Mickey Mouse ears, backpacks, clothing and home ware.

Her sock draw is full of Disney themed socks. She says: ‘My biggest collection is my socks. My Disney sock collection is organised in character order.
‘I’ve had over 500 pairs in total as they get worn, and I replace them with new ones.’
But Rebecca admits that during lockdown the spending habits became ‘dangerous’.
She says: ‘In total since 2018, I have spent over £12,000, and through lockdown it was quite dangerous – I ended up using all my spare money.’
Now, Rebecca is on a mission to travel the world, seeing all the Disney sites.
She says: ‘I have only been to Disneyland Paris. All of the Disney stores except one have now closed in the UK, but I am planning to visit all the Disney parks in my lifetime.’

She also shares her love of Disney with other fans.
‘In 2020, just before lockdown, I created a Disney account,’ she says. ‘Seeing other people’s collections inspired me to start growing my own.
‘My love for Disney has just grown and grown ever since.
‘I now have a massive collection.’
