My partner got so much support when he came out – so why am I still a secret? | The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: EVERYONE has been supportive since my partner came out to his friends and family as bisexual last year – so why won’t he tell them about me?

I’m his boyfriend. He’s 25, I’m 24 and we’ve been together for nine months.

We met at the gym when we started training with each other, and he asked me out for a drink.

Our relationship is great – he makes me laugh and is really supportive.

But I’m sick of being kept a secret. When I’ve asked him about it, he always says “it’s not the right time”.

Part of me wonders if I should demand that he tells them, or we’re done.

MOVE IT ALONG

I've made it obvious I fancy my colleague – why won't he make a move?

DEIDRE SAYS: An ultimatum can sometimes work in your favour, making the other person realise what they truly want.

But it can also be risky if you’re not ready to follow through with it.

There’s also a chance your boyfriend could grow to resent you for forcing him to do something when he’s not quite ready.

Try a gentler approach. Ask your boyfriend what is holding him back, and explain how his secrecy is making you feel.
