In the upcoming Netflix series “Uncoupled,” Neil Patrick Harris plays a New York City realtor whose life is turned upside down after his boyfriend abruptly walks out on him after 17 years.
When Lawson gingerly wades his way back into the dating pool, he’s forced to become acquainted with apps like Grindr and the concept of the “d–k pic.”
The “How I Met Your Mother” star told Page Six at the show’s splashy premiere on Tuesday night that he was deeply involved with his character Michael’s penis portrait.
“Not only did I get approval, [but] I was asked to choose said d–k, which is harder than you think, no pun intended,” he quipped with a raised eyebrow.
The TV vet, 49, explained that he was also asked to OK “a flaccid latex phallus that was left in my dressing room,” which definitely did not pass muster.
“It was not OK because I’m more proud of Michael’s member than something that is mass-produced, that you can purchase online,” he shared.
The “Doogie Howser” alum revealed that the pecker project involved a laborious search.
“So we started looking through photos of people who have taken pics of their dongs in locker rooms,” he divulged. “And you had to find the right angle and girth and manscapery. And I think we found the right mix. I’m proud of what I’m packing downstairs.”
Joining Harris at the premiere were the show’s other stars, Tisha Campbell, Brooks Ashmanskas, Tuc Watkins, and Emerson Brooks, as well as the show’s creators Darren Star and Jeffrey Richman.
“Uncoupled” premieres on July 29.
