Killing yourself to live? Ozzy Osbourne’s ‘life-altering’ surgery revealed

Ozzy Osbourne is feeling grateful following his “life-altering” surgery that involved removing and realigning pins in his neck and back.

“I am now home from the hospital recuperating comfortably,” the former Black Sabbath frontman, 73, wrote on Instagram Wednesday.

“I am definitely feeling the love and support from all my fans and send everyone a big thank you for their thoughts, prayers and well wishes during my recovery,” he added.

Osbourne was discharged from a Los Angeles hospital on Tuesday, one day after undergoing what wife Sharon Osbourne called “a major operation” that would “determine the rest of his life.”

In addition to suffering from Parkinson’s disease, Ozzy has been reeling from neck injuries he sustained in a 2003 quad biking accident. A fall in 2019 worsened the ailment, after which he had 15 screws inserted into his back.

“I’m just waiting on some more surgery on my neck,” the rock star told Classic Rock magazine of the unspecified procedure last month.

“I can’t walk properly these days. I have physical therapy every morning,” he explained at the time. “I am somewhat better, but nowhere near as much as I want to be to go back on the road.”

Page Six obtained exclusive footage of Ozzy being wheeled out of the hospital on Tuesday with Sharon, 69, by his side. Despite the intensity of the procedure, the musician managed to stand up and get himself into a black Range Rover with guidance from a hospital attendant.

A relieved Sharon took to social media to let her followers that the Prince of Darkness was out of surgery, “doing well and on the road to recovery.”

“Our family would like to express so much gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love and support leading up to Ozzy’s surgery,” she tweeted, adding, “Your love means the world to him.”

A source close to the family recently told Page Six there would be a “lengthy amount of convalescence” after the operation and that a nurse would be brought to their home to tend to the “No More Tears” singer.

“Ozzy is 73 and any kind of surgery when you get older is difficult,” our insider shared.

Ozzy and Sharon are set to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on July 4.
