Parents are only just realising Asda is offering £5 free cash for school uniforms – how to get it | The Sun

PARENTS have just noticed a way to get up to £5 in free cash for school uniforms.

The extra boost comes from the Asda Rewards app which is free to download and sign up to.

One shopper spotted the deal on their app and shared it to Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK.

They wrote: "Great incentive from Asda! If you use the rewards and have little ones in school you can get extra money for using your cash pot on school uniform.

"Fab idea when it’s nearly that time of year again!"

Others were excited, with one responding: "Great idea".

Customers will need to first install the Rewards app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play store.

You'll need to have an account – if you don't, it's pretty easy to sign up. You'll just need to pop in your name and a couple other quick details.

Then, you can earn cash rewards known as Asda Pounds when shopping in store and online.

How do I get the deal?

When you have Pounds in your Cashpot, you'll get the chance to create a voucher which can be used to buy Asda school uniform.

First of all, click on the blue window at the top of your home screen that says "New boost voucher available".

You'll then need to create a voucher. Just select the Spend tab in the app and click on "Create rewards voucher". The voucher should then be added to your wallet for use.

You have three options for this deal, all of which require you to use Pounds from your Cashpot. These are:

  • Use £5 from your Cashpot, spend £6 on school uniform
  • Use £10 from your Cashpot, spend £12.50 on school uniform
  • Use £15 from your Cashpot, spend £20 on school uniform

If you choose to use £15 from your Cashpot in exchange for a £20 voucher to spend on school uniform, you'll get a maximum £5 in free cash.

You have from now until June 18 to claim this deal, after which you have three weeks to spend your voucher on George back to school clothing and footwear.

The deal expires on June 25.

To find your nearest Asda, just can use the store locator on its website.

The voucher will have a barcode to scan at the till.

If you're ordering home, don't forget to factor in delivery costs on top of your purchase.

You'll just need to pop in the voucher code when you reach the online checkout.

More uniform deals elsewhere

Tesco often has Clubcard deals on its school uniform stock, but it's not available to buy online.

There's also a store locator on the Tesco website if you're planning a visit, but don't forget stock may be subject to availability.

It might be best to call up first and ask about deals and what stock is in store to avoid a wasted trip.

Aldi last year offered a £5 uniform bundle which you might want to watch out for – it included two polo shirts, one sweatshirt and either trousers or a skirt.

The sweatshirt cost £1.50, the girls/boys polo shirt two pack was £1.75 and the girls/boys trousers or skirt was £1.75.

It came out in July so keep your eyes peeled next month.

Other Rewards app deals

Usually you can buy certain "star products" which are a mix of branded and Asda own-brand items.

You can see a full list in the dedicated section of the Asda Rewards app, but they're also marked when you're shopping online at Asda.com.

These allow you different deals on a range of items. Some examples from today include:

  • £1.75 on Kellogg's 8 Variety Packs
  • Get £2 into your Cashpot if you buy L'Oreal Men Expert Look Lively Anti-Fatigue Gift Set
  • Get 50p into your Cashpot if you buy Fanta Orange Zero Cans

You can also earn rewards by completing "missions", which are usually tasks like spending a certain amount to earn a voucher, or buying certain products to earn another.

Just be mindful of how much you're spending – not every deal will be worth the money you spend to get it and remember to look around other shops to see what deals they have to compare.
