People are only just realising the real meaning behind Nike's name, which is thousands of years old.
Nike is one of the largest companies in the sports clothing industry, having been founded nearly 60 years ago, in 1964.
The brand started out as Blue Ribbon Sports, and was founded by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight.

Seven years later however, the decision was taken to rename it, with Nike becoming the new name.
The name Nike, is actually taken from the Greek goddess of Victory and is often depicted in Greek mythology with famous athletes, symbolising their victories.
The goddess is still really prevalent in the sporting world of today, with Olympic medals bearing her image, while the sportswear brand's trademark 'swoosh' logo represents the wing of the Greek goddess.
It turns out that a lot of people in the UK have been pronouncing the name wrong and that the Americans are the ones who've nailed the pronunciation.
The word Nike is meant to have an emphases on the 'e'.
Twitter users were quick to point that out, with one writing: "We should all say NIKE to rhyme with 'spikey' because Nike was the Greek goddess of victory and they pronounced the 'e', just like we say Penelope with the 'e' sound because it’s Greek".
A second said: "Nike is pronounced Ny-Kee because it is named after the Greek Goddess of Victory."
A third added: "Just having the Nike and Adidas debates regarding pronunciation and origin of name.. My parents know their stuff!!"
Meanwhile a fourth quipped: "A hill I just recently found out that I *will* fight and die on: The e in the name of the shoe company Nike is pronounced because the name comes from the the Greek goddess of victory Nike. So the British English pronunciation of the company’s name is in fact incorrect."
