Ricky Martin has launched a $20 million lawsuit against the nephew that made a series of shocking allegations against him.
In July, the singer’s nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, requested and was granted a restraining order after accusing his uncle of domestic violence. The nephew claimed to have been in a sexual relationship with Ricky for seven months, but that the singer became aggressive when he tried to end the situation.
Dennis – who’s the son of Ricky’s half-sister – said he had reason to “fear for his safety.”

Ultimately, however, the nephew withdrew the allegations and the charges against Ricky were dismissed. Ricky’s lawyers said Dennis pushed for the charges to be dropped.
“The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone, without any outside influence or pressure, and the accuser confirmed he was satisfied with his legal representation in the matter,” a statement read.
“The request came from the accuser asking to dismiss the case,” the attorneys continued. “This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them.”
Even though the case was dropped, Ricky is now taking legal action against his nephew in the form of a million-dollar lawsuit.

Court documents reveal the singer is claiming to have been “persecuted, besieged, harassed, stalked and extorted by a maladjusted person” by Dennis. He claims his nephew harassed him online and sent him multiple messages a day.
Dennis also allegedly shared Ricky’s private phone number on social media, and created a fake account for one of the singer’s children. Ricky alleges Dennis was attempting to “assassinate his reputation and integrity” unless he paid him off.
The case remains ongoing.
This isn’t the only legal battle Ricky is facing at the moment. The ‘Livin’ La Vida Loca’ crooner is being sued by his former manager, Rebecca Drucker. She’s suing him for $3 million.

Rebecca claims she had to quit the job after Ricky made her work environment toxic. She alleges he subsequently refused to pay her what she was owed after stepping away from the position.
The talent manager says she was responsible for reviving the singer’s career, helping him secure recording deals and sponsorships. She also says she helped save him from a “career-ending allegation,” though it’s unclear what this refers to.
“Rebecca Drucker saved Ricky Martin’s career,” her court complaint argues. “There is just one problem: Martin completely and maliciously refused to pay Rebecca the millions of dollars in commissions that he owes her under their management agreement.”
