A ring expert has detailed his easy way of cleaning jewellery, and you'll only need one simple household cleaning item.
Michael Fallah, 36, is the owner of luxury jewellery business, Michael Arthur Diamonds, and has recently shared his jewellery cleaning expertise on TikTok.
He showed his followers exactly how he cleans his own jewellery by using washing up liquid, a toothbrush, safety pin and warm water.
Michael started off the process by filling up a small cup with warm water before adding washing up liquid to it – which can be bought for as little as 34p in selected supermarkets.
Next, he attaches a safety pin to the ring and swirls it around in the water for two minutes, as he begins to cleaning process.
Using a toothbrush, he then gently scrubs the ring to rid it of any dirt before rinsing it in the warm water once more and then pats it dry with a kitchen towel.
Michael's easy cleaning method proved to be a hit among TikTok users, with many commenting on how useful his video was as it racked up over 5,000 likes.
"Stunning!! that's how I clean my rings too," said one social media user, as another added: "Brilliant!"

Others were slightly sceptical about the process however, with one person saying they were "scared" to clean their designer ring using Michael's method.
Alternatively, reaching for your trusty packet of baking soda is another great way of rescuing any gold-plated jewellery items, says Abbott Lyon’s Lead Product Designer Jasmin Stanbridge.
To do so, first line a glass bowl with some aluminium foil and be sure to place the shiny side facing upwards.
Once done, add one tablespoon of baking soda and one tablespoon of salt to the bowl and add in enough hot water to dissolve the powders. Next, add in your jewellery and allow to soak for several minutes.
If you see any blacksand yellow flakes come off of the jewellery, it’s important not to panic as this is just sulphur and is completely normal.
Remove the jewellery from the mixture after a few minutes – or after most of the tarnishing has gone – and clean with a lint-free cloth.
Like with the previous method, rinse in warm water and dry thoroughly with a lint-free cloth.
However, if you’re looking for a way to keep your gold plated jewellery shiny in between these deep cleans, it's advised anyone to use a polish cloth to buff their pieces when needed.
