Shoppers in South London are raving about a ‘secret’ warehouse that does exactly that, and it’s been dubbed a ‘Posh Costco’.
The warehouse opens its doors just a few hours a week to non-industry shoppers, allowing them to access the kind of goodies normally served up by top chefs or in artisan food stores, at a fraction of the prices.
The Deli Warehouse on Linford Street in the Nine Elms area of Battersea, South West London, originally opened its door during lockdown to help families who couldn’t easily get grocery shops in while pandemic restrictions applied.

It’s quietly stayed open ever since, allowing the general public in Wednesdays to Saturdays, with a new festive shopping slot now on Sundays too.
Those who visit must wrap up warm – the refrigerated warehouse makes for a bone-chilling shop, says the company.
And if you’re in the market for a festive red, you’ll need to bring your own bottles to fill up on the fine wines, which are decanted from giant vats.
There’s plenty of financial reward though for such efforts, with discounts up to 50 per cent off normal retail prices.
The warehouse stocks gourmet goods such as smoked salmon from artisan Suffolk smokehouse Chapel and Swan, hand-cured pancetta, venison salami and blocks of Parmigiano Reggiano.

The artisan outfit is owned by Harvey & Brockless, which makes and distributes fine foods across the Uk.
The British company began life as a cheese wholesalers in the 1970s, supplying Harrods, The Savoy and The Ritz with cheddar.
The brand continues to supply five-star hotels and restaurants across the UK.
