Last month, new episodes of Netflix’s drama-fuelled real estate reality show, Selling Sunset dropped, much to viewer’s delight.
Returning for its sixth season since first airing in 2019, a handful of the OG cast members have headed back through The Oppenheim Group doors for more, including newly married Chrishell Stause, Heather Rae El Moussa, and Mary Bonnet (was Fitzgerald).
For those who have watched the latest 11 episodes, you’ll no doubt be familiar with the feud that took place between Chrishell and season six newbie, Nicole Young. (FYI, Nicole has actually worked at The O Group for years, she has just never appeared on the show until now.)
To recap, the two real estate agents came to blows over a house sale that actually happened three years ago.
Nicole was upset with Chrishell for taking credit for the property she sold in 2020, and claimed that her name had been added to the sale as favouritism from Jason, the president and founder of The Oppenheim Group.
However, Chrishell maintained that she never received a penny from the sale, and even took to social media following the airing of the feud to share screenshots of a conversation she had with Nicole, which she claimed proved there was no drama between the two.
Now, Selling Sunset’s Mary has spoken out about the feud, including why she thinks the two weren’t on the best of terms.
Speaking on an episode of The Viall Files podcast, Mary explained that the entire drama was down to an old social media post.
"I remember Nicole getting upset because Jason brought both of them on [to the listing],” she recalled.
"In the beginning, Nicole did do more work on it. He brought Chrishell on because she was newer at that time.”
“It was a learning thing for her”, she added, before confirming that Nicole was the one that “got paid for it.”
Mary then added that Chrishell posted it on Instagram when the house was sold. She also revealed that Nicole found out the listing was going to be on Selling Sunset, which according to the agent, saw her get “really upset back then.”
So in theory – while the pair should have had joint credit – this suggests that Nicole was actually annoyed with the show for making it look like Chrishell had made the sale, right?
