Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello may have an iron-clad prenup in place, but their divorce appears to be getting messier, as they try to work out custody of their 10-year old dog.
According to a new report from Us Weekly, the former couple are still determining the details of their divorce settlement in court. “They still have a few issues to figure out, like custody of their dog, Bubbles,” the source shared. “But Sofia hopes they can move forward in a calm, fair fashion.”

It’s implied that both Sofia and Joe want to retain custody of their dog following the divorce, but it may be impossible given their conflicting schedules and desire to move on from each other’s lives.
However, the insider provided no details over the potential arrangement they’re considering, or when they expect to have the dog custody question settled.
Sofia and Joe announced their separation earlier this month following 7 years of marriage. “We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” they shared in a joint statement. “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect for our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”

Joe was the one to file for divorce, listing “irreconcilable differences” as the cause. It’s been reported that his desire to have children led to their break-up. Sofia – who already has a 31-year old son – apparently doesn’t want any more kids.
“Sofía and Joe have been growing apart for a while now and are taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future,” one source told Page Six.
“They have been spending time apart and focusing on themselves, their careers, and their loved ones. Sofia has been giving her all to her new beauty brand, toty, and is very involved and excited about it,” another insider told Entertainment Tonight.
As per Daily Mail, the pair signed a “$100 million iron-clad prenup” before their 2014 wedding, which likely stipulate the division of most of their assets. They already listed their 7-bedroom home months ago for $19.6 million; Sofia originally bought the mansion for $10.6 million in 2014.
While the prenup may account for most of their assets, it seems like custody over the dog wasn’t included, so Sofia and Joe may have to continue to hash it out in court for a while.
