Trevor Noah is moving on.

The host announced on Thursday’s episode of “The Daily Show” that he will be exiting after seven years.

While reflecting on the fact that his seventh anniversary on the show had come up, he told audiences, “I found myself thinking throughout the time, everything that we’ve gone through … and I realized that after seven years, my time is up.”

He added that he “loved hosting the show,” calling it one of his “greatest challenges” and “joys.”

Moments before his announcement went live on social media, asource had told Decider that Noah revealed the news to audiences during Thursday’s episode taping.

Paramount later confirmed the news to Variety with a statement that read, “We are grateful to Trevor for our amazing partnership over the past seven years.

“With no timetable for his departure, we’re working together on next steps. As we look ahead, we’re excited for the next chapter in the 25+ year history of ‘The Daily Show’ as it continues to redefine culture through sharp and hilarious social commentary, helping audiences make sense of the world around them.”

The South African comedian, 38, took over “The Daily Show” under plenty of scrutinies.

He told Variety back in 2020, “I will say the first two years were horrible — and it was horrible because I had taken over one of America’s most beloved institutions.

“And even though Jon Stewart had passed over the reins to me, it was essentially a year of people telling me I shouldn’t be doing the job and I was unworthy of being in that seat. And I continued to believe that.”

Many viewers also had an issue with Noah being picked after old tweets of his resurfaced that could be seen as anti-semitic. Some of his old routines also came to light where he made seemingly derogatory jokes about Aboriginal women.
