What Kate Middleton is set to wear for King’s Coronation as she teases colour of outfit

The world will be watching on Saturday 6 May as King Charles III and Queen Camilla are officially crowned in a lavish but scaled-down coronation ceremony.

Thousands of people are expected to watch the procession, which is somewhat of a shorter route than the late Queen took in 1953, and the crowning will be broadcast to millions more.

As the anticipation builds, devoted royal fans are eager to find out what exactly the family – and especially well known fashionista Kate Middleton – will be wearing on the big day.

Among those who just couldn’t wait was TV presenter Alison Hammond who confessed to asking Kate, 41, during a recent royal visit to Birmingham.

The television star confessed, “I said to her: I’m feeling like you’re gonna wear blue.”

Kate then reportedly admitted that there would be “a hint of blue” in her coronation look, but wouldn’t divulge any more details.

It certainly wouldn’t be a surprise if the Princess of Wales did opt for blue, as it’s proven to be a firm favourite of hers over the years.

However, her phrasing could suggest that the blue is just an accessory, leaving the colour of the Princess’ gown still very much up in the air.

Royal fans have also been wondering if Kate will opt for a tiara for the big day.

It would be traditional for the Princess of Wales to don a tiara for her father-in-law’s crowning, but royal experts have speculated that the dress code this year might be a tad more casual.

King Charles III has made much of his plan to “slim down” and modernise the monarchy and royal experts believe this could mean he’s opted for a daytime formal dress code.

This would mean that, rather than appearing in a tiara, Kate could be wearing a simple hat or fascinator instead.

That could also be the Princess’ preference as she’s very rarely spotted in tiaras.

Kate has worn just three tiaras a handful of times, more than a decade after marrying into the royal family.

The Princess of Wales wore the Cartier Halo tiara, which dates back to the 1930s, on her wedding day in 2011.

She’s also worn one of Diana’s favorites, the Lovers’ Knot tiara, on a number of occasions.

That tiara, which dates back to the early twentieth century, features a number of hanging pear-shaped pearls and diamonds.

She’s also been spotted in the Lotus Flower Tiara on occasion, which was a wedding gift given to the Queen Mother, and is said to have been a favourite of Princess Margaret’s.
