Who was Kady McDermott’s ‘secret boyfriend’ Liam Greer as she splits from Ouzy

No stranger to reality drama, Kady McDermott, 27, was plagued with rumours of a "secret boyfriend" throughout her second stint in the Love Island villa.

Following on from claims made by her fellow contestant, Mitch Taylor, Kady has strenuously denied claims she was in a romance as she searched for love on the ITV show this year.

But who was Liam Greer, the man she was linked to?

Liam Greer, 30, appeared at Harrow Crown Court in April this year, admitting to laundering £359,000 and is due to be sentenced on August 18.

He was arrested by police on suspicion of money laundering in February last year, before jetting off with Kady to the Maldives for a luxurious £1,500 a night, five-star holiday.

Six months after their return from the sun, Liam, who runs an electric bike company which police believe to be unconnected to the alleged crime, was charged with money laundering.

The couple were no strangers to living it up though with the pair enjoying a Valentine's date at London's exclusive Bvlgari Hotel just two days after his arrest in February and then later in September they were back in the sun, holidaying in Ibiza.

Police also believe that he had been living at a renovated bungalow of Kady's in Hertfordshire.

A Met Police spokesman told OK!: "Sentencing is due to take place on 18 August.

"While officers did attend a bungalow in Herts no search took place."

In the lead-up to Kady's second stint on Love Island, neighbours said they often saw the pair walking her dog, Koby, and heading to the local gym and supermarket.

Kady has taken to her Instagram stories though to dispute this. She said: "The narrative that is circulating that I had a boyfriend whilst in the Love Island villa is categorically FALSE.

"My mum stayed at mine whilst I was in the villa to look after my dog and house."

Kady is no stranger to reality drama. She has appeared on Love Island twice now, TOWIE and nearly Celebs Go Dating – but was later dropped from the series after agreeing to appear.

OK! has contacted Kady's reps and ITV for further comment.

Kady and Ouzy sat side-by-side for the weekend's reunion show and confirmed they were still an item, but in a turn of events, the pair have now unfollowed one another on Instagram, with Kady announcing on her Instagram stories that the romance is indeed, done.

She said: "Sadly, late last night Ouzy's behaviour and actions from the 30th July were brought to my attention.

"Ouzy is one of the loveliest people I have met and I know he is remorseful but unfortunately actions have consequences and although we are not 'official' in our relationship status I am definitely not prepared to start a relationship off on this foot.

"I wish him nothing but happiness and success in life."

She carried on by thanking her fans for their "support" as she moves on to more "positives" in her life.

Ouzy has since responded, saying: "Just wanted to say what's happened with me and Kady has NOTHING to do with her or any false rumours that have been flying about, it's because of my actions that things have ended not Kady's and I have apologised to her already.

"She's an amazing girl with an amazing family and doesn't deserve any of the negative messages she has received this morning!"

This years fellow islander Mitch spoke to On Demand Entertainment and said: "You're calling me and Ella B fake, you came in with a boyfriend, and you have a boyfriend to this day."

Kady previously dated TOWIE star Myles Barnett, 29, before splitting in 2021.
