After four years together,Molly-Mae Hague andTommy Fury’s relationship is going from strength to strength. Having met onLove Island back in 2019 when Molly-Mae entered as a bombshell, the pair have become one of the show’s many success stories and welcomed their first baby together earlier this year.
But the couple, both 24, have celebrated a more recent milestone in their relationship aftergetting engaged during a trip to Ibiza. While on the sun-soaked trip with their daughter Bambi, Tommy got down on one knee and asked Molly-Mae to be his wife.
After posting a video of the engagement, one scene showed social media star Molly-Mae flashing her new ring as she wrapped around her husband-to-be. Since then, all eyes have been on Molly-Mae’s new piece of jewellery.
Experts have claimed that Molly-Mae’s engagement ring could be “lab-grown” due to its size and high quality.
According to Laura Suttie, Gemmologist and Design Expert at Queensmith, Molly-Mae’s engagement ring could be a “stunning and timeless five carat oval diamond”. This particular shape has gained popularity in recent years and, based on its size, she puts its value at “around £400,000” if it’s a natural diamond.
Laura added: “If Molly-Mae’s diamond is a natural diamond, it is an incredibly rare find. Five carats is a considerable weight for a diamond – even those who work in the world of diamonds may only come across a handful of truly exceptional 5 carat diamonds every few years.”
As a result, she argued that there was a “high chance” that the diamond was “lab-grown rather than naturally sourced”. If so, she estimates that a five carat lab grown ring in the UK is worth around £20,000 to £40,000.
OK! has contacted representatives for Molly-Mae and Tommy for comment.
According to Laura, lab grown diamonds are becoming increasingly popular, with 81% of Queensmith’s diamond sales in 2023 coming in the form of lab diamond sales.
These comments come after other experts claimed that Molly-Mae’s ringcould cost up to £1 million and that the choice of ring “aligns with Molly’s evolving style”.
Following the news of the pair’s engagement, fellow Love Island stars rushed to show their support for Molly-Mae and Tommy’s blossoming romance.
“BALLING AGAIN!!!!!!!!! ILYSM [heart emojis] CONGRATULATIONS YOU TWO,” wrote Maura Higgins.
Amber Gill added: “Congrats you two babes always the cutest videos”.
Meanwhile, Paris Fury, who is married to Tommy’s brother Tyson, wrote: “Congratulations to yous, such lovely news and your ring is beautiful”.
