Woman left looking like a duck after suffering extreme lip filler swelling

A woman was left looking like a "duck" after she suffered extreme allergic reactions to botched lip fillers.

Emma, from Kentucky in the US, called it "the worst experience of her life" and said she was unable to talk for two days.

The young woman went to a medical spa on December 29 and was given numbing cream before receiving a full syringe of lip filler.

"I should have known from the jump because I called three different places and all of them were like $700-$800 and I paid only $348 (£286)," she explained in her update video.

"After they injected me, I loved them but a couple of hours later, it started swelling."

Showing the progress pictures in her now-viral post, her lips doubled in size and she said at that moment, her lips "felt like they were going to explode".

And it didn't get any better – her boyfriend woke up from a nap and looked panicked when he saw her face turning red and swollen.

Emma then shared a picture showing the side of her face, adding: "When I couldn't even talk because my lips were so big and waking up the next day looking worse, I could barely open my eyes.

"I called the place, they said it was normal and not to worry about it.

"I called the hospital, I didn't go because I'm hard-headed and didn't want to get poked with more needles.

"They told me to take some Bendaryl, I took some and a couple of days later, it went completely down and that's about it."

She also recalled that her mum freaked out when they talked on a video call.

Emma offered a piece of advice to her viewers, saying: "Make sure if you go and get the lip fillers, you are not allergic to anything, like Lidocaine or anything, or else the same thing is going to happen to you!"

Viewers were shocked by the extreme swelling but also couldn't help to poke fun at her side profile.

One said: "You look like that one fish on Karate Island on SpongeBob, Glad you're feeling better though."

"The side picture had me cackled, I hope you don't go back to the person who did this and get a refund," a second commented.

A third is now having second thoughts on getting a filler, adding: "Oh my God, I don't even want one now."
