Woman strikes a chord by pointing out a very specific and ‘unusual’ trait in men: ‘They ALL do this’
- Comedian Sarah Adelman was shocked at how little men know about each other
- The New Yorker revealed a man didn’t know his best friend was engaged
A woman was shocked to realise how little men know about their friends after a surprising lunch unveiled massive gaps in knowledge.
Sarah Adelman, a comedian from New York, recently had a catch-up lunch with two of her male friends.
The trio laughed and shared life updates for the most part, but one of the men was surprised to find out that the other was engaged.
This lead to Sarah questioning what men really know about each other’s personal lives, and what – if anything – they talk about when they spend time together.
‘This was a shocking event and I’ve seen this happen many times,’ Sarah said about the encounter.

‘What do men talk about when they’re alone?’ the comedian asked in a now-viral video.
‘Because I genuinely do not understand how men do not know personal facts about each other.’
Sarah then went on to explain the origin of her frustration: her confusing lunch meetup.
‘I recently got lunch with two guys who know each other, and I know both of them separately, and we were all hanging out,’ she explain.
She added that she had never hung out with both of them at once, so she was not aware of the dynamics of their friendship.
During the lunch, Sarah happened to mention one of her friend’s fiancée, when the other man dropped a bombshell: he didn’t know his friend was engaged
Sarah then happened to mention one of her friend’s fiancée, when the other man dropped a bombshell: he didn’t know his friend was engaged.
His revelation confused Sarah.
‘What do you mean you don’t know he’s engaged? He didn’t tell you he was going to propose? And didn’t tell you that he proposed?’
‘This is so simple, it’s so easy, it’s the first thing I learned about him.’
But that was not the only perplexing incident.
One of the men soon mentioned he was from Connecticut – when the other surprisingly revealed that they shared a hometown.
‘They’ve been friends for five years, and [them being from the same place] has never come up?’

Thousands of men in the comments fueled the fire by revealing how much they do not speak about.
‘I drove my friend three hours to the airport last week,’ one said. ‘I have no idea where he went.’
‘I might not know my best friend’s favourite colour or birthday, but I know his plan for the apocalypse.’
‘We don’t really talk about anything. I told I friend I bought new tires and we talked about tires for twenty minutes.’
‘Male friendships are mostly about remembering things and then ranking the things we remember.’
Some women shared similar infuriating incidents about their partners.
‘My husband has a friend who moved away and he recently had a child,’ one woman wrote. ‘But my husband doesn’t know the gender or name of the baby.’
‘I had to tell my husband that his best friend of six years has more than one brother.’
‘I went on a double date with my boyfriend’s best friend and his girlfriend – and we literally did not know the girl was eight months pregnant until we saw her.’
