ARSENAL have submitted a second bid for Ajax star Jurrien Timber, according to reports.
The Gunners saw their first bid worth £30million declined by the Dutch club.
Talks have continued and Mikel Arteta wants the deal done this week.
The latest bid is rumoured to be worth between £34m and £39m with bonuses then added on.
Personal terms are not thought to be an issue with the defender as he has already agreed to join.
Ajax supposedly want £50million but Arsenal are convinced they can get him for less.

If the North Londoners see their second offer accepted, Timber will reportedly sign a five-year deal at the club.
The 22-year-old is predominately a centre-back but can also play at right-back.
He came through the academy at Ajax and has gone on to make 121 appearances for the first-team, helping them win two Eredivisie titles.
Timber, who was heavily linked with reuniting with his old boss Erik ten Hag at Manchester United last summer, has been capped 15 times by the Netherlands.

Arsenal supposedly held "secret talks" with the player to move ahead of the Red Devils in the race for his signature.
Man Utd pushed hard to sign Timber, but he was apparently warned against the move by then Dutch national team coach Louis van Gaal, who was concerned over him being benched prior to the World Cup.
Arsenal are hoping to also bring in Kai Havertz and Declan Rice as Arteta tries to bolster his squad ahead of the club's Champions League return.
