TWO Arsenal loanees sent a message to Mikel Arteta as they both scored in Ligue 1 at the weekend.
Nuno Tavares and Folarin Balogun were both shipped out by the Gunners boss after failing to impress in pre-season.
But they have got off to a blistering start at their clubs in France, with both men on the score sheet yesterday.
Left-back Tavares already hit the target for new side Marseille in their opening day 4-1 win over Reims.
And the Portuguese ace was at it again as he struck his side’s only goal in their 1-1 draw at Brest.
Elsewhere, striker Balogun opened his account for Reims to give them a 2-0 lead against Clermont Foot.

The youngster showed his composure by scoring a penalty to put Reims in control after just half an hour.
Unfortunately for Balogun, his side went down to 10 men almost instantly in the second half.
And an incredible comeback by Clermont Foot saw them emerge 4-2 victors.
Despite neither player being on the winning side, their performances are sure to have got back to Arteta.

The Spaniard has made it clear he only wants committed players in his talented squad.
But Tavares and Balogun certainly did their respective causes no harm this weekend.
Even so, both players may find it hard to break back into the senior set-up next year.
As well as having Kieran Tierney ahead of him, Tavares now finds added competition through ex-Man City ace and Premier League winner Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Arsenal also raided City for striker Gabriel Jesus, who hit a brilliant brace in the weekend’s 4-2 win over Leicester.
And with Eddie Nketiah also signing a new deal, Balogun’s chances of becoming Arteta’s No1 forward look slim.
